Exploring ‘LGBT’ identity with InsideOut

We’re very excited to include LGBTQIA+ content in Shelf Life, as our team is very diverse and we are passionate about contributing towards a rare but growing trove of media with positive representation of minority sexualities in New Zealand.

As we venture further into our development cycle, we are hoping to work alongside National LGBTQIA+ Youth Organisation ‘InsideOUT’ to help us polish and develop aspects of our characters and narrative.

InsideOUT is a New Zealand organisation established to educate, inform and create resources which work to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of young people of minority sexualities, sexes and genders.

In 2018 InsideOUT worked with funding from the NZ Ministry of Youth Development to create video resource project ‘More Than Four’. The result is a fantastic collection of videos that explore the identities of a wide range of LGBTQIA+ individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds.
